Richmond – Kew – London
Hello! My name is Georgina and I have been practicing and teaching Hatha Yoga for nearly a decade.
When I was 18, I ruptured my ACL in my left knee whilst playing netball and had to undergo reconstructive surgery and a long rehabilitation process. As part of my return to full movement, I enjoyed attending asana (physical postures) classes on a regular basis. I found many of the poses and pranayama (breathwork) very challenging to begin with (I still do now!) but I loved how much calmer and stronger my body and mind felt afterwards.

After graduating with a law degree, I returned to Dorset and worked as a paralegal for two years. During that time, I discovered a passion for yoga through weekly classes with a local teacher named Sam, whose inspiring approach provided a welcome break from my demanding job. Initially, I planned to become a solicitor, but after two years of stressful interviews and rejections, I decided to change careers – a choice I’m grateful for.
I moved to London in 2022 for a PA role and soon began researching yoga teacher training (YTT). I enrolled in My Vinyasa Practice’s online 200-hour YTT program, which allowed me to balance my studies with work. After nine months of studying, I graduated from my YTT in August 2023 and started teaching immediately, both at work and later at Richmond Barre. When Richmond Barre closed at the end of 2024, I began teaching at St Luke’s Church in Kew.
Now, I teach every Tuesday from 7-8pm at St Luke’s. Whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, I’d love to welcome you to a class.
I look forward to practicing with you.
Best wishes

I like to think of Hatha yoga as the ‘umbrella’ of all yoga.
All other ‘types’ of yoga such as Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar or Power yoga derive from Hatha yoga.
Hatha yoga focuses on the 84 postures or asanas that are commonly practised today, as well as working with the breath, known as pranayama. You will hold the posture for longer in Hatha yoga, about 30 seconds or for ten rounds of breath. This is different to Vinyasa yoga where you tend to flow quickly from one posture to the next.
Hatha means “wilfull force” and the balancing of the sun and moon energies: “Ha” means sun and “tha” means moon. By practising Hatha yoga, the aim is to balance one’s solar and lunar energies to ultimately become more peaceful beings.
Spine glorious spine!

“Georgina is an amazing teacher. She is also a genuinely lovely person which is important in creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Her instructions are clear and during class she constantly checks and makes sure you are positioned correctly. Georgina’s classes are suitable for all levels and I find them deceptively challenging in a good way. They are also very good for calming down your mind. I feel both stronger and relaxed after every class. I would highly recommend Georgina’s hatha yoga classes if you want to improve your physical and mental wellbeing.“

“I have been participating in Georgina’s hatha yoga classes online as I don’t live locally to the studio. I have always found Georgina to be incredibly knowledgable on the yoga. She varies the classes each week and we work towards different peak poses. Variety is important so that you don’t get bored! She will always full explain the posture beforehand and prepare your body for it too. Alternative poses are always given and you are told which body part is being worked during each posture. Georgina is an incredibly passionate teacher and is very patient and encouraging. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending her classes which are both relaxing and balancing.“
